what Roles Does Limbo/Purgatory Do In the RCC?
Are boths tillheld, and what roles do they represent ? -
To Sin or Not
Does the lost ever commit any action that is not sinful? Do the lost ever do anything that would be considered Christ like? -
Love of "the brethren"
What I have disturbingly seen from years of participation on Christian forums is a lack of love for believers who hold to divergent positions on various doctrines.
I have never seen such mean-spirited people as I have seen among supposed Christians.
I understand even better than in years past what Jesus meant when he talked about the narrow way and there being few who find it.
I can say this with certainty: There are many who claim the name of Christ who will not see heaven if... -
An Inclusivist Church
Despite my running battles with The Biblicist and others over Calvinism, I would not wish to exclude those who believe this way from my church. As I have stated, my mom believes in OSAS. Also, even though I do not hold to the Pentecostal/Charismatic interpretation of baptism in the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues, I would not want to exclude a person who believes this from my church. My oldest sister, though raised a Baptist, is now a Pentecostal.
I am passionate about my beliefs in... -
per The RCC, WHAT aspect of salvation is lacking in cross of Christ?
Why additional sacramental graces needed, IF jesus paid it all, all to Him we owe?
Or was there sin that His death failed to atone for, and we have to cover that part in order to be saved by God? -
Charles Stanley on Eternal Security
Charles Stanley may be the only Southern Baptist who was a part of the so-called "conservative resurgence" that I can listen to. Indeed, I have been blessed many times by his sermons.
But some things he has said and believes I just can't take -- the following, for instance:
"Even if a believer for all practical purposes becomes an unbeliever, his salvation is not in jeopardy… believers who lose or abandon their faith will retain their salvation."
And this: "The Bible clearly... -
Can a person be saved apart from access to the Bible or a Church or Religion?

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;
to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith:
as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Romans 1:16-17 -
ESV or NIV pew Bible change
My pastor asked me my opinion on a possible change in pew Bibles and an official recongnition of a standard translation for reading from the pulpit. We currently use the NIV (1984). Pastor received a MacArthur SB in the ESV from his wife for Christmas and has used it since while preaching. Some in the assembly are asking to update the NIV to either the NIV 2011 or the ESV.
My thoughts are as follows:
1. There really isn't enough of a difference between the NIV 1984 and 2011 to justify... -
Fire Breathing Dragon?
How many of you ever noticed the description of a fire breathing dragon as reflected in Job 41? -
When do we receive eternl salvation?
Eternal salvation was accomplished by Christ on the cross for all those that God gave to his Son, and all that he died for will live with him in heaven, without the loss of one. John 6:37-41.
